Dr. Koichi Yuki obtained his M.D. from the University of Tokyo, Japan in 1999. He finished his Surgical Internship at University of Hawaii in 2002 and his Anesthesia Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2005. At Boston Children's Hospital, Dr. Yuki pursued two fellowship trainings: Pediatric Anesthesia in 2006 and Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia in 2007. Under Drs. Timothy Springer and Motomu Shimaoka (Immune Disease Institute), he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in 2012.

As a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist, Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology is Dr. Yuki's area of expertise. He has been serving as an attending physician at Boston Children's Hospital since 2009. When not practicing as a clinician, he is a scientist who conducts research. His work aims to clarify how myeloid cells and systemic inflammation might cause organ injury in sepsis. His lab has also looked into the impact of anesthetics on perioperative immune function and postoperative outcomes. Dr. Yuki is also the Director of Cardiac Anesthesia Research at Boston Children's Hospital. His research has been funded by NIH grant since 2012.
